Printing on Decor Paper PLUS

Decor Paper Plus can be used on just about all cake toppings. We recommend however that you test the suitability of Decor Paper PLUS for your particular application before any bulk production.

Open the rear feed support and load 1 sheet of Decor Paper PLUS only.

Load the sheet with the clear edge at the bottom and coated side facing you. Make sure that the paper type is set to “Plain Paper” and the print quality is set to “High” in the printer driver.

Print your design and allow at least 5 minutes to dry before handling. Remove the plastic backing sheet. This should remove easily but if you have problems, place the printed sheet of Decor Paper PLUS in the freezer for 10 – 15 seconds which should solve the problem.

If not required for immediate use, allow the sheet to dry completely for 1 hour and then store in a resealable plastic bag until needed. Do not leave to dry for more than 1 hour before placing in the bag, otherwise the sheet may become brittle.

Decor Paper Plus can be fixed to your cake using any edible topping , such as edible gel, whipped cream, butter cream, freshly made icing or marzipan.

If decorating a cake which has already been covered with icing or marzipan, lightly brush or spray the dried topping with water to assist the adhesion of Decor Paper PLUS to the topping layer. Apply only a very light coating of water, too much will cause the Decor Paper PLUS to wrinkle.

Decor Paper PLUS should only be applied to flat cake surfaces. If any wrinkles appear during application, gently pat the sheet to remove them. Avoid touching the printed surface with wet hands as this may cause the ink to run.

Cakes covered with Decor Paper PLUS can be cooled in a fridge but they should not be frozen. Do not store the finished cake in a cake tin as excess humidity may cause the sheet to become wavy.

Always remember to store your Decor Paper PLUS in the grip seal bag provided and reseal the bag after removing a sheet. This will prevent the sheets from drying out and becoming brittle.

Printing on Edible Wafer Paper

Edible Wafer Paper is used mainly on dry toppings such as marzipan or icing. It should not be used on wet topping such as fresh butter cream or whipped cream as it may dissolve due to the high water content. We strongly recommend that you test the suitability of Edible Wafer Paper for your particular application before any bulk production.

Open the rear feed support and load up to 15 sheets of Edible Wafer Paper.

Load the sheets with the smoother side facing you. Make sure that the paper type is set to “Plain Paper” and the print quality is set to “High” in the printer driver.

Print your design and allow at least 5 minutes to dry before handling. If the density of your print is very high, Edible Wafer Paper will curl. In order to flatten the sheet, allow it to fully dry and cover with a plastic sheet. Place a book or similar item on top and leave until flat.

If not required for immediate use, allow the sheet to dry completely for 1 hour and then store in a resealable plastic bag until needed.

Lightly brush or spray the dried cake topping with water to assist the adhesion of Edible Wafer Paper.  Apply only a very light coating of water, too much will cause the Edible Wafer Paper to disintegrate.
